School may be SCAM, but there’s a lot to learn if you’re CALM

You probably have heard this a gazillion times that *School is SCAM*…

Well, it may be or maybe not!

We may argue endlessly that you don’t practise what is taught in schools, etc. But there’s so much to learn from educational institutions;

- Lecturer throws you outside for coming late to the classroom (DISCIPLINE)

- You have hundreds of people from different backgrounds, most of whom you’d be stuck with for years (INTER-PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP)

- There’s no family members to cuddle/pamper you etc… (INDEPENDENCE)

- You got to control your emotions and reactions for fear of expulsion (MATURITY)

- You study and study before you understand certain concepts (DILIGENCE)

- You find it difficult to grasp a concept and plead with your coursemates to show you the way (HUMILITY)

- You have to research and map out different methods to approach a single problem (CRITICAL AND ANALYTICAL THINKING)

- I could go on and on; but in all, school is where you get the closest feel of how the REAL WORLD is.

And even if you still claim the school isn’t worth it, it’s an institution that teaches you how to learn and how to be patient while at it. Especially, how to be patient with your own self.

This wasn’t written to change your notion of what you regard school as. But if you think about it, you may realise that only those who aren’t CALM to go through the school processes and thoroughly subject themselves to real learning/ growth refer to the school as a SCAM.
